Hello! My name is Alyssa Ruff. This is my eleventh year in education, all of which have been spent in elementary special education. This will be my fourth year at Eanes Elementary and I couldn’t be more excited to start another year with such an amazing community. I have primarily worked in a modified/collaborative setting for the entirety of my career, though I have also spent time in a PPCD classroom. I began my teaching experience in Duncanville ISD, where I served as the 5th and 6th grade modified math teacher for three years. From there, I spent one year in Frenship ISD at North Ridge Elementary as a reading and language arts modified teacher. For the next three years, I taught in Lago Vista ISD serving as the modified and collaborative teacher for the entire elementary school, teaching math, reading and providing behavior support. I hold teaching certificates in Special Education EC-12, Generalist EC-6 and English as a Second Language.
I grew up in a suburb of Dallas, Texas and attended Baylor University, where I graduated in 2009. I moved to Austin in 2015 with my husband David, who I’ve been married to for nearly 6 years and we have a precious six month old baby boy named Rhodes and the best golden retriever ever, Randy!
I look forward to being the 5th grade Collaborative teacher during the 2021-2022 school year!
